From 2003, I’ve focused my professional career on family law litigation in metro Atlanta. My cases in litigation focused on custody and parenting time, particularly those involving mental health and substance abuse allegations. I also litigated child support and parenting time deviations and the division of large marital estates. In 2021 I served as a Judicial Officer in the Family Law Division of Fulton Superior Court. Before 2003, I practiced tax law at Alston & Bird, one of Atlanta’s top firms, where I represented corporations and individuals in tax matters. I have found my tax and business background helpful in working with divorcing parties with small businesses or other complex assets.
From 2002, my husband Raj and I have been raising our own family here in intown Atlanta. In those years, I’ve been on PTA and Booster boards. I’ve coordinated volunteers for theater productions and teacher appreciation. I’ve been a Boy Scouts mom and a Girl Scouts leader. I’ve become an amateur data scientist particularly on issues of education and schools. I am a coach with the Maynard Jackson High School Swim+Dive team. I also swim and coach with the Glenwood Grown Up Piranhas and the Atlanta Rainbow Trout.
I received my law degree from the University of Texas School of Law (J.D. 2001, with honors) and my undergraduate degree from Georgia Tech (B.S. 1997, with honors). I am a member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law American Inn of Court and the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia. Over the years I’ve presented on various family law topics. For the 2015 annual Family Law Institute I put together a Prezi on family law venue and jurisdiction that I think is still helpful 9 years laters for attorneys and individuals sorting through one of the more thorny issues in family law.
